Spirulina is a type of fresh water algae that drew the attention of nutritionists, due to the numerous health benefits it brings. It contains many vitamins and plenty of nutrients, which makes spirulina adequate in the treatment of various diseases.

Protein Content of Spirulina

It is estimated that spirulina contains between 65 and 71 percent complete protein. By comparison, red meat includes only 27 percent protein, while soy has 34 percent. In other words, spirulina holds nearly twice the protein found in these foods. It is recommended for anyone who needs to follow a diet rich in proteins.

Vitamins and Minerals Found in Spirulina

Spirulina also proves to be an important source of vitamins, containing a wide variety of them, namely:

Vitamin A

Thiamine (Vitamin B1)

Riboflavin (Vitamin B2)

Niacin (Vitamin B3)

Pantothenic acid (Vitamin B5)

Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6)

Folic acid (Vitamin B9)

Cobalamin (Vitamin B12)

Vitamin C

Vitamin D

Vitamin E

Vitamin K

Biotin

Inositol

More than that, spirulina includes numerous minerals, such as:

Boron

Calcium

Chloride

Chromium

Copper

Germanium

Iodine

Iron

Manganese

Magnesium

Molibden

Phosphorus

Potassium

Selenium

Sodium

Zinc

One may conclude that spirulina is good for treating the deficiencies of any vitamin or mineral listed above.

Water is the most important element of sustaining life. Water is also an important health nutrient. It is recommended that one drinks minimum of eight glasses of water to maintain the elasticity of the skin, to regulate body temperature, for absorption of nutrients into the blood and for transporting oxygen and nutrients to the cells. Do you know drinking water is essential to remove the toxins from the body and for proper bowel movements? However, the question is, are you drinking quality water? Does the water contain alkaline?

What is Alkaline Water?

Water which is neither neutral nor acidic on the pH scale is known as the alkaline water. In fact, the level of pH is higher in alkalized, or ionized, water compared to the normal tap water. Natural alkaline water is found in the springs, ponds and deep wells in the higher altitudes. It is also found in glacial runoff streams and mountain wells. However, alkaline water can be acquired in your home because it can be created using a water ionizer or Microhydrin from RBCLIFE.

The Benefits of Alkaline Water

Drinking alkalized water has many benefits because alkaline neutralizes acid. Consumption of this water facilitates body to reduce as well as dispose off the acidic wastes. Remember, accumulation of acidic waste leads to aging. Alkaline water helps to reverse aging by dissolving acid wastes. However, you must understand water that is ionized is not a medicine but only an agent that has the ability to retain your health and youth. Let’s delve into the benefits of ionized water.

To prevent your body from dehydration you need to drink at least four liters of water that is rich in minerals and alkaline. Alkaline water has a pH value between 8 and 9 and this helps in hydration. It is also an excellent conductor of electrochemical activity between cells. By flushing out the toxins and acids from the body, this water helps in regulating all the cellular functions from the heart beats to the neural performances of the brain.

Drinking water water before you eat helps in weight reduction. It is a fact that food cravings are more extreme when you are thirsty. Quenching your thirst can lead to eating less and healthier food.

Studies show that alkaline water is an anti-oxidant and helps to increase the energy level of your body. It also facilitates clarity of mind due to extra oxygen content.

Drinking ionized water before or after meals would enhance efficient absorption of nutrients and also improves digestion. In brief, alkaline water helps to maintain the pH level of your body. You can rightly say that it is one of the keys to stay healthy and young.

½ ripe banana
1 – 2 tsp Spirulina powder
½ – 1 tsp Green Phyto-Power

Directions:

Add fruit and water to a blender and blend on high until it is the consistency you prefer (Hint: the thicker it is the more you will taste the fruit vs. the greens). Add more fruit, ice or water to reach the right consistency for you.

For beginning smoothie makers or those who don’t yet have an appetite for green foods, start with 1 tsp Spirulina powder and ½ tsp Green Phyto-Power. Increase to 2 tsp Spirulina and 1 tsp Green Phyto-Power over time as your palate adjusts.

Gently blend in the products by placing your blender on the lowest speed and blend until just mixed.

Enjoy!

Note: Once you have the full amount of product in the smoothies and you are enjoying the taste of your fruity greens, try increasing the nutritional content even more by adding spinach or kale in with the fruit and blend as usual.

Keeping your brain sharp and preventing mental decline involves more than just the brain itself. Healthy practices in many areas of life will help you keep your brain, as well as your body, in top shape. (NaturalNews)

Here are 10 easy and natural ways to help keep your brain in top shape now and prevent problems later:

1. Lead an active lifestyle and exercise regularly. Regular exercise such as brisk walking, swimming, aerobics and yoga in mid-life helps forestall and prevent memory problems that often come with aging. In later years, regular exercise and physical activity can actually improve the brain function of people with mild cognitive impairment. There is no need to overdo it – mild to moderate exercise is all it takes. The key is to do it regularly.

2. Exercise and challenge your mind. An active brain stays sharp and continues to produce new connections between nerve cells. Studies have shown the benefits of regularly solving crosswords and other brain teasers. Other things to consider are reading, playing games such as chess, and learning a new hobby. Instead of watching mind numbing TV shows watch programs that provide new and thought provoking information such as shows about history and science.

3. Eat a healthy diet. A diet that is low in saturated fats, sugar, bleached white flour and junk foods and which has an abundance of colorful fruits and veggies will keep your brain sharp as well as keeping your body trim and protecting you against diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease.

4. Avoid and manage stress. We have all heard that stress is the silent killer and it is true. Stress also damages your brain by releasing damaging hormones. Some of the best ways to manage stress include simplifying your life, avoiding stressful situations, stopping to smell the roses from time to time, and using techniques such as yoga or meditation.

5. Get adequate sleep. According to the National Sleep Foundation, adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night. Restful sleep enables the body and brain to heal and recharge so that you are healthier and are able to think more clearly. Sleep also helps you have a better long-term memory.

6. Be sure to include plenty of antioxidants in your diet. Numerous studies have shown that a diet rich in antioxidanery hights helps prevent and slow age-related declines in memory and learning. Among the very best sources of antioxidants are blueberries, dark grapes and pomegranates. OliViva, Immune360, Microhydrin, PhytoPower, and Spirulina are high in antioxidants.

7. Incorporate plenty of essential omega-3 fatty acids in your diet. Omega-3s help protect the brain against age-related decline and maintain proper brain function throughout life. Some of the best omega-3 sources include fatty cold water fish such as tuna, sardines, mackerel, and herring. IQ, Spirulina, Bright Bar are high in Omega 3’s.

8. Have an active social life. Talking and interacting with others keeps your brain active and sharpens thinking. According to a leading psychologist, spending only 10 minutes talking to another person can be as effective as mental exercises such as working crossword puzzles.

9. Don`t smoke. According to the Mayo Clinic, smokers have twice the risk of developing Alzheimer`s. If you do smoke, stop! Even people who have smoked for years can reduce their risk of memory problems by quitting. Drink in moderation. While low to moderate amounts of alcohol, especially red wine, have been shown to protect against heart disease and cancer, heavy drinking (more than 14 drinks each week) actually shrinks brains.

10. Take NeuroBright twice a day, studies have shown that it may improve your ability to think, learn and remember by as much as 50%.
